Študentská 1639/2, 911 01 Trenčín, Slovakia
The Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín in Trenčín, founded in 1997 by the decision of the National Council of the Slovak Republic by the Law on the Establishment of the University of Trenčín as a public university, is one of the youngest universities in the Slovak Republic. Before the establishment of the university in the city of Trenčín and in the Trenčín region, there were several detached workplaces of other Slovak universities. The Trenčín region was the last in Slovakia that did not have a university. In addition to the nationwide need to expand the possibility of higher education and increase the number of students at universities, the creation of a separate university in the Trenčín region was mainly caused by the high concentration of engineering, electrical and consumer industries, important research and development and project organizations, social, health and cultural organizations and institutions.
