The Cultural and Educational Association of Pará - ACEPA , was established on 10/01/1986, as a private, non-profit, educational institution, as established in its Constitution Act. The Institution's purpose, among others, is to maintain the Higher Education Center of Pará - CESUPA. Throughout its trajectory, the Higher Education Center of Pará received its accreditation as a University Center from the National Council of Education, on June 14, 2002, through the publication, in the Official Gazette of the Union, of Ordinance No. 06/13/02, changing its name to University Center of the State of Pará - CESUPA . The achievement achieved represents the culmination of the work developed so far by the institutional group and enshrines CESUPA's educational project, built with security and balance, and in tune with the socio-economic-cultural reality of our community. CESUPA, committed to the principles of quality and contemporaneity, incorporates, in its academic project, essentially, the functions of teaching and extension, contemplating research in some areas of its specific performance. CESUPA's academic proposal has been built from an integrative character, in order to overcome the dichotomy general training versus specific training , reserving the first for undergraduate and the second for postgraduate. The idea of ​​integration , it is worth underlining, is the main line of the academic project, alongside the reorientation of the intellectual attitude and action of CESUPA's professional future. This integrative conception involves a triple aspect: integration from theory to practice, teaching-service integration and disciplinary integration . In this direction, it is expected to obtain, at the end of the process, an education that provides competence to solve the most frequent problems, according to an integrated, critical, efficient action and committed to the social reality.
