The Dresden University of Applied Sciences ( HTW Dresden for short ) is the state University of Applied Sciences in Dresden . With over 4,500 students, it is the second largest university in the state capital after the much larger Technical University of Dresden . The campus is in close proximity to Dresden Central Station and another smaller part in Pillnitz. The HTW Dresden offers 42 courses in the fields of technology, economics, environment, design at eight faculties (civil engineering, design, electrical engineering, geoinformation, computer science/mathematics, agriculture/environment/chemistry, mechanical engineering, economics).
