GreenHeart Medical University (GMU) is an independent institution of tertiary level education, chartered by the government of Guyana with programs in medicine, nursing, and pharmacy. Named after the famous rainforest tree of medicinal properties "Greenheart" and located in the historic city of Georgetown, Guyana, GreenHeart Medical University (GMU) started its operations in 2005 to address the need of education in the field of health sciences in Guyana and the overall region. Managed by a newly appointed Board of Directors under advisement of highly qualified medical educators, administrators, and acclaimed physicians, GreenHeart is becoming a regional leader in health care education, research, and health services. The University offers quality educational programs in health sciences, including medicine and nursing, that integrate professional skills, career-focused education and hands-on practice. Our programs enable our students to develop and achieve their personal and career objectives.
