The José Faustino Sánchez Carrión National University (acronym: UNJFSC ) is a public university located in the city of Huacho , capital of the Lima-Provinces Region , north of the city of Lima in Peru . It was founded in 1968 , establishing itself as the first university in the province of Huaura (former Province of Chancay ) and Norte Chico . It was named in honor of the precursor of Peruvian independence José Faustino Sánchez Carrión. The origin of the José Faustino Sánchez Carrión National University dates back to the creation of the Faculty of Aquaculture and Oceanography, a subsidiary of the Community University of the Center of Huancayo , in 1960. Two years later, in 1962, it took the name of Faculty of Fisheries Engineering. Also that year the Faculty of Education opens, with the specialty of common and technical secondary, and the university is renamed as the National University of Central Peru . In 1963 a new Faculty was opened, that of Economic and Commercial Sciences, with its own budget.
