The Latvian Academy of Sport Education (Latvian: Latvijas Sporta pedagoģijas akadēmija) is an institution of higher education specialising in sport science, located in Riga, Latvia. The number of LSPA students, compared to previous years, has increased several times, and at the start of the 2022/2023 academic year, a total of 1,325 students are studying in 6 study programs, and in the period from 1992 to February 3, 2023 (inclusive), the number of graduates has reached 5668. The number of academic staff has also increased quantitatively and qualitatively: In the 1946/1947 school year, 38 teachers worked, incl. 1 professor, 16 assistant professors, 7 senior lecturers, 14 lecturers and assistants; In the 2022/2023 academic year, the educational work at the university is provided by 59 lecturers, 45 of whom have a scientific degree, incl. 12 professors, 16 associate professors, 14 assistant professors, 6 lecturers, 3 assistants, 8 leading researchers and researchers.
