The Moscow Automobile and Road Construction State Technical University (MADI) was established by the Decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR No. 748 dated December 13, 1930, on the basis of the road department of the Moscow Institute of Transport Engineers and the Higher Road School of TsUDORTRANS. The university prepares mechanical engineers for road transport, road construction machines, hydropneumatics and hydraulic drives; engineers for the operation of road transport; mechanical engineers for research, testing and operation of internal combustion engines; construction engineers of roads, bridges, tunnels and complex mechanization of construction, traffic engineers, system engineers; economists of road transport and road construction; bachelors in all of the above specialties.
