Moscow State Mining University (Московский государственный горный университет in Russia) is a Russian institute of higher education that prepares mining engineers. In 1930 the Moscow Mining Academy was divided into six independent institutes by the order of Supreme Soviet of the National Economy. Among the new colleges which grew out of the Academy's departments was Moscow Mining Institute. In 1993 the Institute was transformed into the State University of Mining.
