The mission of the National University of Loja is: academic and professional training, with solid scientific and technical bases, social relevance and values; the generation and application of scientific, technological and technical knowledge, which contribute to the integral development of the environment and the advancement of science; the strengthening of thought, the promotion, development and diffusion of knowledge and cultures; and, the provision of specialized services. We are a secular, autonomous higher education institution, governed by public law, with legal status and non-profit; of high academic and humanistic quality. We offer face-to-face and distance training, promoting environmental problems with quality, relevance and equity through scientific-technical research. We contribute to the sustainable development of the region and the country, interacting with the community through alternative proposals to national problems and with social responsibility; recognizing and promoting cultural and ethnic diversity and popular wisdom. We rely on scientific and technological advances in an effort to improve the quality of life of the Ecuadorian people.
