The University of Applied Sciences Oldenburg/Ostfriesland/Wilhelmshaven (abbreviated FH O/O/W , FH-OOW or FHOOW ) was a German university of applied sciences . It was founded on January 1, 2000 and existed until August 31, 2009. It became the largest technical college in Lower Saxony with a budget of more than 60 million euros, around 10,000 students and over 800 employees, including around 300 professors . The university was created by merging the formerly independent Oldenburg University of Applied Sciences , Ostfriesland University of Applied Sciences (based in Emden ) and Wilhelmshaven University of Applied Sciences. In 2009, the University of Applied Sciences was defunct again. On September 1, 2009, the Jade University emerged from it , consisting of the former institutions in Wilhelmshaven, Oldenburg and Elsfleth, and the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer . The university of applied sciences was affiliated with a study center of the Fernuniversität Hagen at the Emden site .
