Polytechnic METrO Johor Bahru (PMJB) began operating on 01 April 2011 and is the third METrO Polytechnic established by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education after METrO Polytechnic Kuala Lumpur (PMKL) and METrO Polytechnic Kuantan (PMKU). The existence of METrO Polytechnic expands access to education and training for SPM graduates and working adults. The study program offered by PMJB aims to meet the demand in the service sector. This sector is experiencing rapid growth now and is expected to continue to grow in the future. PMJB's permanent premises are located in the development region of Iskandar Malaysia. Iskandar Malaysia is a development corridor that is the flagship economic project of the Malaysian government. The service sector is the dominant pillar in Iskandar Malaysia's economy. PMJB is committed to developing innovative human capital from the people of Johor Bahru, especially Malaysians in general, to support Iskandar Malaysia's economic activity targets.
