The Pomeranian University, being a public university in Słupsk, is a space where tradition and modernity meet. The tradition is built on the achievements of over 50 years of scientific and didactic work, the established position of the academic center, as well as outstanding specialists in the history of the University. It was established in 1969 under the name of the Higher School of Teachers. During the many years of operation of the University, its name was changed several times, which resulted from formal requirements and the expansion of the educational offer. The Pomeranian University in Słupsk was established in 1969 on the basis of the Regulation of the Council of Ministers (Journal of Laws No. 18, item 134) as the Teachers' College.
