The Evangelical University of Rhineland-Westphalia-Lippe(EvH RWL) is the largest Protestant university in Germany with around 2,600 students. Supported by the Evangelical regional churches in the Rhineland, Westphalia and Lippe and recognized by the state, the EvH RWL trains in the areas of social, educational and health care, community education and diaconia. The university is based on the Christian image of man. In 2016, the former Evangelical University of Applied Sciences Rhineland-Westphalia-Lippe (EFH RWL) was renamed Evangelical University of Applied Sciences Rhineland-Westphalia-Lippe (EvH RWL), Protestant University of Applied Sciences. With its network partner, the Catholic University of North Rhine-Westphalia (KatHO NRW), EvH RWL is one of the winners of the "Innovative University" tender.
