The Señor de Sipán University (USS) is located in the Pimentel district, Chiclayo province, Lambayeque region. It was created on July 5, 1999 after the issuance of the authorization by the then National Council for the Authorization and Operation of Universities (Conafu), according to Resolution No. 575-99-Conafu. Regarding its name, the USS receives the name of a pre-Hispanic ruler belonging to the millenary Mochica culture, called "Lord of Sipán". The USS began its activities in April 2000, with five professional careers: Administration, Accounting, Law, Psychology and Systems Engineering. Subsequently, with Resolution No. 104-05-Conafu, of March 29, 2005, the final operating authorization was granted.
