Ricardo Palma University - is a private university in the city of Lima , Peru . Founded on July 1, 1969 and named in honor of the Peruvian writer Ricardo Palma (1833-1919). The founder of the university - Antonio San Cristobal Sebastian - belonged to the Catholic monastic congregation of the Claretians . The university has nine faculties and some 15,000 students study . The main university campus is in the Santiago de Surco area of Lima. The campus covers an area of 6.6 hectares and houses the buildings of each of the nine faculties of the university, as well as laboratories, specialized libraries, auditoriums and canteens. In a separate sixteen-story building is the university administration, a research institute, an informatics center, an auditorium and an outdoor theater.
