UNAERP – University of Ribeirão Preto was the first higher education institution in the region of Ribeirão Preto. Founded on 1st. of June 1924 as Sociedade Escola de Pharmacia e Odontologia de Ribeirão Preto, by a group of idealistic health professionals, intellectuals and educators, since its implementation it aimed to promote the social, educational and cultural development of the then rich capital of coffee, today main sugar-alcohol center in the country.From that visionary initial project, UNAERP's trajectory expanded strongly from the end of the 1950s, when Professor Electro Bonini (1913 – 2011) took over the administration.
