Founded in 1953 as the Higher Institute of Food and Flavour Industries (HIFFI), today the University of Food Technologies (UFT) in Plovdiv combines modern techniques with traditional concepts and dynamic approach to teaching and research. Our students are involved in a wide range of exciting areas of study in food science, engineering and technology, tourism, biotechnology, economics, computer and information technology. Training is structured in three degrees – Bachelor’s, Master and Doctoral. A large number of our graduates have made a career as managers of state-owned or private companies, and have become distinguished scientists or prominent public figures. Our achievements as a leading university are the result of the joint efforts of experts of different fields - a process that is both innovative and inspiring. Cooperation with business and other organizations is designed to ensure the convertibility and dissemination of academic knowledge.
