Vilnius Cooperative College is one of the oldest educational institutions in Lithuania. Its origins go back to 1930, when the School of Economics was founded in Kaunas. In 1945, the latter was transferred to the cooperative company Lithuanian Union of Consumer Cooperatives. In 1946, after the reorganization of the Kaunas School of Economics, the Kaunas Cooperative Technical School was established, and in 1954 the Correspondence Education Department was established. Kaunas part-time cooperative technical school was founded in 1964. In its base, there was a Vocational Technical School, where waiters, bartenders, cashiers and confectioners were trained. In 1991, the Vilnius Cooperative Technical School was reorganized into the Vilnius Higher Cooperative School. Specialists in business organization, accounting and administration of institutions were trained. In the same year, the Kaunas part-time cooperative technical school was reorganized into the Kaunas commercial school, and later, in 1995, into the Kaunas higher cooperative school. In 2000, following the license to establish a non-state college granted to Vilnius Higher Cooperative School by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, a non-state higher school was established - Vilnius Cooperative College. A year later, the Kaunas Higher Cooperative School was reorganized into the Kaunas branch of the Vilnius Cooperative College. in 2020 The last batch of students graduated from the Vilnius Cooperative College.
